Union Minister Pranab Mukherjee for cluster approach for helping MSMEs
The 'cluster approach' should be taken to help the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises(MSME) sector tide over the present economic recession, Union Minister Pranab Mukherjee said on Saturday (21st February 2009).
"There is need for a cluster approach for the MSMEs to tide over the economic crisis. For a single entrepreneur, it will be difficult to raise finance from his own resources," he said, adding that financial help needed by the MSME units could be provided only by banks and institutions. Mukherjee was launching the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI)'s 'Rural Industries' programme here in Murshidabad district.
